Natural organic elements are combined together here to make this one of a kind necklace. The design on the pendant reminds me of sailing. The fine silver (.999 silver) pendant was created by me the artisan by imprinting the design from an antique button into precious metal clay which once fired becomes 99.9% pure silver. I gave it a patina finish to give it an antiqued look. It measures 1" in diameter and hangs 1 1/4" including the bail. Another natural element in this necklace are the recycled African glass beads in sea foam green and smokey topaz. Each bead has been uniquely shaped and worked on by hand. The pendant and beads are threaded on a sandy beige suede cord.
Closure: Sterling Silver Rope designed toggle clasp
Length: 17 1/4"
These glass beads are made by the Krobo People of Ghana, Africa. Powder glass beads are made by crushing old glass bottles to a fine powder and heating it so that the particles fuse together. The glass is then poured into clay molds, with a cassava leaf stem used to make the hole. They are baked in an oven and the glass fuses and the cassava stem burns up. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries
♥Special Note: the last picture shows the bracelet and earrings that match which are sold separately.♥
